After investigating the prevalence of self-harm and the contribution of dentofacial appearance on self-harm and bullying, researchers provided data to better understand the relationship between self-harm and dentofacial features. Addressing adolescents’ discomfort over dentofacial esthetics may be a way to reduce the prevalence of self-harming behaviours and may contribute to lower rates of bullying.
