A partner at Torkin Manes in our Litigation Group, Robert’s practice encompasses all facets of health law and professional discipline. With an exclusive focus on advocating for regulated health professionals, he regularly represents them in regulatory, administrative and civil proceedings.
Robert has extensive experience with, and unique insight into, the issues facing regulated health professionals. His communication and advocacy skills, coupled with his expertise in the regulated health professionals’ landscape, have enabled Robert to adeptly represent clients before all levels of Court in Ontario. He also routinely advocates on behalf of regulated health professionals in college proceedings (e.g., complaint and s.75 investigations, discipline proceedings, registration matters, and incapacity proceedings), hospital privilege disputes, audits, and matters before the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board and the Health Services Appeal and Review Board.
As a reflection of Robert’s knowledge and extensive experience in this area of law, he has been an elected member of the Ontario Bar Association’s Health Law Executive since 2017 and is past Chair of the Executive.
