Ethical practice is the foundation of the dental hygiene profession. This course will facilitate ethical decision making while encouraging problem solving and critical thinking. The College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario Code of Ethics and an ethical decision-making model will be introduced to assist with self-evaluation, reflection and accountability.

Michelle Atkinson has been a dental hygienist since 1990 and has experience in many different areas of the dental hygiene profession. She has worked in clinical practice, professional sales, and administration. Currently Michelle is a faculty member at Algonquin College where she teaches in the dental assisting and dental hygiene programs. Michelle has embraced her entrepreneurial spirit in the development of two businesses; Dental Hygiene Seminars of Ontario (DHSO) and RDH Consulting. She holds a Professional Certificate in Adult Education and a Bachelor’s Degree, both from Western University.
