Dr. Michael Glogauer was recently appointed as head of Dental Oncology at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, a world-class cancer facility. He is also a professor at the University of Toronto where he holds the position of chief of dentistry for the University Health Network. After receiving his Doctorate of Dental Surgery and PhD at the U of T, he went on to complete post-doctoral training at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA. In addition to private practice, Dr. Glogauer runs several dental educational study clubs for dental professionals and lectures extensively throughout Canada and internationally. He has more than 180 peer-reviewed publications and two patents on topics of oral/dental health and treatments. Additionally, he researches periodontal disease treatment, novel diagnostic methods and treatments to improve bone prior to dental implants at the university. Among his professional affiliations, Dr. Glogauer maintains active memberships in both the Canadian and international associations for dental research, the Hamilton Academy of Dentistry, the CDA and ODA.
